3.4.4.3 MOBY-I File Handler

Connection 1

By providing the file management system "File Handler", the

ES 030-K with MOBY-I board and file handler function

simplifies the data management on the mobile data storage

(MDS) for the user of the MOBY-I Identification System. This

program (firmware on the options board), appears to the user

like an operating system for MDS with the following features:

- The user addresses his data using logical names (file

names) that consist of up to 8 alphanumeric characters.

Thus, absolute addressing is not required.

- Contiguous data are called files.

- Administration of different file lengths.

Further information is contained in the description of

MOBY-I FB 230.
