Test Methods

6.1

Hardware

Jumping to the Hardware Selftest

Connect mains connector while pressing test mode switch

(key in upper left), with key switch in the horizontal

position.

System message:

Hardware Test Function

Input of the number of the test

1 Keyboard Test

Each pressed key will be indicated by a lit LED key.

2 Display Test

The same alphanumeric character is indicated in all

display positions simultaneously, followed by the next

higher character and so on at one-second intervals.

3 LED Test

All LEDs on the keyboard will be switched on.

4 Interfaces - Testing the Standard Interface

A test adapter (TTY or RS422) must be connected to the

interface connector.

Message:

SUCCESS

TIME ERROR

(interference to the connection)

CHARACTER ERROR

5 Interfaces - Testing the Expansion Interface

A test adapter (TTY or V.24) must be connected to the

interface connector. Message as under 4.

6 Test of the Digital Input/Output

Enter the byte number of the input/output byte. The

outputs will be addressed and the inputs will be displayed.

(A simulator can be ordered for this test - see Chapter

2.4.1).

The third byte will indicate the position of the DIP switch on

the motherboard.

7 Test of the Digital Input 16 DI

The byte number for the input bytes is pre-set.

(A simulator can be ordered for this test - see Chapter

2.4.2)

8 Keyboard Test

Each pressed key will be identified by the line number as

well as the column number of the key indicated in the

display.

Leaving the Hardware Test Function

The active test section is terminated by pressing the key

DUE in the selection mask. All other keys, including

have no function.
