Live switching function

Pressures and flows

Two columns are connected in succession.

Pressure P1 is initially applied. The final

pressure is the atmospheric pressure P

This results in pressure distributions and

flows as shown on the left.
Conclusion:

with the "straight operation" shown in the

graphic, the pressure P2 is produced in the

middle between the two columns.

Note
In real processes, the curve for the pressure drop is nonlinear.
