Connecting Modem to Telephone Line

Turn off the computer.

Open the cover of the modem jack on the left side of the computer.

To avoid damaging the modem, close the modem cover after you finish
using the built-in modem.

Connect the modem cable to the modem jack and the telephone line.

Be sure not to insert the modem cable into the LAN jack on the rear side
of the computer. It may damage the LAN jack and the modem cable.

Connect the modem to the telephone line directly. Do not use a
distributor or allotter.

Turn on the computer.
