Connect the AL series to the host computer with the provided DirectHD cable.
(Refer to the
Connecting AL Series to Host Computer
section on the earlier
page.)
Be sure to power off the AL series before connecting them.

start
on the host computer.

Utility

Password Utility
. The
Password Utility
window will appear.

Type the current password in the
Password
box and click
OK
.

Click
OK
in the confirmation window.
The password will be cancelled and the AL series will be recognized as an
external hard disk of the host computer.
In some cases, an alert box may appear. This is because once the
password is cancelled, the USB device is stopped and then, the
connection is restarted. This causes no matters.
Deleting User Password
When the host computer runs Windows XP or Windows 2000
Run the Setup Utility on the AL series and delete the user password. (See Chapter 5.)
When the host computer runs Windows Me
1.
Cancel the user password. (Refer to the previous section.)
2.
Stop the device. (Refer to the
Stopping Connection to Host Computer
section.)
3.
Remove the DirectHD cable from the AL series and the host computer.
4.
Run the Setup Utility on the AL series and delete the user password. (See
Chapter 5.)
Deletion of the user password without canceling in advance will cause
the AL series to be recognized as a removable disk the next time you
access it using DirectHD function. To allow the AL series to be
recognized as an external hard disk, follow these steps.
