Write Continous Transmit Setting

SYNOPSIS

WI0

- Turns off continous transmission

WI1

- Turns on continous transmission

DESCRIPTION

The

command controls whether or not the PIM-3 will continously transmit

data.

If the first character in the

information field

is a "

", the PIM-3 will only trans-

mit when requested. This is the default setting when the instrument is
shipped from the factory.

If the first character in the

information field

is a "

", the PIM-3 will transmit the

transducer reading as often as possible. This is equivalent to sending the
system command "

" repeatedly. The PIM-3 will still respond to other com-

mands normally.

The PIM-3 will not send a response after this command has been processed.
If incorrect information is given, the PIM-3 will respond with “

COMMAND

ERROR

.”.

EXAMPLE

#00WI1

The above command, when followed by a carriage return, will cause the
instrument addressed as "00" to transmit data as quickly as possible, one
reading after another.

WHEN TO USE IT

If the PIM-3 is connected to a dumb terminal or to a printer, you can have the
PIM-3 transmit data automatically.

This command is the easiest way to insure that you are obtaining data from
the PIM-3 as quickly as possible.

The continous transmit setting should always be set to “off” when using mul-
tiple RS-485 PIM-3’s on the same communications link.
