Write Automatic Limit Report

- Turns off automatic limit reporting

- Turns on automatic limit reporting

DESCRIPTION

The

command controls whether or not the PIM-3 will automatically trans-

mit the status of the limits whenever any one of the limits has been switched
from “off” to “on.”

If the first character of the information field is a “1”, then the PIM-3 will auto-
matically transmit the limit status whenever any one of the limits has been
switched from “off” to “on.” A sample limit status message looks like this:

#AA L1 ON L2 OFF L3 OFF L4 OFF

Where “AA” is the address of the PIM-3.

EXAMPLE

#00WJ1

The above command, when followed by a carriage return, will cause the
instrument addressed as “00” to enable its automatic limit reporting function.

WHEN TO USE IT

The automatic limit function can be used to signal that the transducer has
tripped one of the limits.

This command should always be set to “off” when using multiple RS-485
PIM-3’s on the same communications link.
