21
4.1 Daily maintenance
or after every 10 hours of operation
F
Cleaning the machine:
Do not use compressed air, high‐pressure
cleaners or solvents to clean the machine!
a.
Clean the machine and tools dry with a
cloth or suitable agents.
The manufacturer recommends employing
dust extraction with an appropriate filter.
b.
Restart the machine if necessary
(
!
Chapter 3.1 ‐ page 18).
F
Check milling discs, multi‐disc rods, spacers
and bearing bushes and replace if necessary (
!
Chapter 4.3 ‐ page 21).
F
Check the level of the hydraulic oil in the oil
tank [7, Fig. A] and add more if necessary.
F
BEF 320VX:
(
!
HONDA operating manual)
Check fuel levels of petrol and oil and refill if
necessary.
Check and clean air filter and replace if neces
sary.
4.2 Weekly maintenance
or after every 50 hours of operation
F
Check milling rotor / re‐equip / exchange
(
!
Chapter 4.3 ‐ page 21).
F
Check the seal strips and dust protection brushes
[12, Fig. B/E/I] and replace if necessary.
F
Clean the connection to the dust extrac
tion [21, Fig. B] and chassis [22, Fig. B] from
milling residues.
F
Lubricating the machine:
Milling rotor and milling discs should not be
lubricated!
a.
Clean machine parts that rub against each
other (mainly levers and bearings in Fig. C)
and apply acid‐free industrial grease as
needed.
b.
Check greased parts for proper function.
F
Check / Tighten / Replace the mill belt:
1.
Unscrew the drive cover [10, Fig. A] (3 screws)
and remove.
2.
Loosen the engine base screws [40, Fig. H] (4
pcs.) (do not remove).
3.
Replace mill belt if defective [37, Fig. H].
4.
Loosen the lock nut [41, Fig. H].
5.
Tension the mill belt with the tensioning
screw [42, Fig. H] until it can be depressed ap
prox. 1 cm by applying moderate pressure with
your thumb.
6.
Screw tight the screws of the belt tensioner.
7.
Mount the drive cover.
8.
Check whether the milling rotor turns under load
(
!
Chapter 3.2 ‐ page 19).
9.
If the belt tension is not yet sufficient, repeat
steps 1. ... 8..
F
Check / Tighten / Replace the pump belt:
1.
Unscrew the drive cover [10, Fig. A] (3 screws)
and remove.
2.
Loosen the screws of the belt
tensioner [39, Fig. H] (do not remove).
3.
Replace defective pump belt if ne
cessary [38, Fig. H].
4.
Tighten the pump belt until it can be depressed
by about 1 cm at moderate thumb pressure.
5.
Screw tight the screws of the belt tensioner.
6.
Mount the drive cover.
7.
Check whether the pump turns under drive load.
8.
If the belt tension is not yet sufficient, repeat
steps 1. ... 7..
4.3 Servicing the milling rotor
Risk of injury from sharp edges!
A sharp burr can form on the milling discs during
the milling process.
Wear safety gloves!
Risk of injury from heavy machine parts! Do not
reach under the milling rotor when pulling out
the milling rotor!
The operation was ended
(
!
Chapter 3.3 ‐ page 20).
1.
Unscrew the 4 screws [46, Fig. I]
(spanner width 19).
2.
Pull bearing plate [45, Fig. I] from the rotor
shaft [43, Fig. I].
3.
Pull milling rotor [44, Fig. I] from the rotor shaft.
4.
Unscrew one of the two cover and spacer
rings [47, Fig. I] from the multi‐disc
rods [48, Fig. I].
