EN Floor milling machine BEF 320EX / BEF 320VX
19
Drive motor and the milling rotor are at a stand
still.
5.
Check milling rotor and milling discs for function
and condition and replace if necessary
(
!
Chapter 4.3 ‐ page 21).
6.
Remove any protruding objects from the surface
to be milled.
7.
Attach external dust extraction at the connection
to the dust extraction [21, Fig. G].
Dust extraction is provided by the customer.
The suction hose can be attached with Velcro
strips to the cross bar [2] and on the safety
bar [1] (Fig. G).
8.
Check the dust protection brushes [12, Fig. I] for
proper position and function and, if necessary,
correct.
9.
If necessary, insert the safety peg [33, Fig. F] all
the way into the safety switch [32, Fig. F].
10. The operator should sling the safety
line [34, Fig. F] around their wrist so that if the
operator goes away from the guide handle, it is
assured that the safety peg will be separated
from the safety switch.
The machine is ready for operation.
3.2 Floor milling
Never use the machine on a floor tilt angle of
more than 10
°
!
The operator must always be able to control and
steer the machine!
The guide handle [5] may not be released during
operation. All operating elements must always
be within reach.
The machine is ready for operation.
(
!
Chapter 3.1 ‐ page 18).
1.
Shift the drive lever [4, Fig. A] into the middle
position (
f
).
2.
Pull the lift lever (quick lift) [16, Fig. C] all the
way back [19, Fig. C].
The lift lever latches into place.
The milling rotor is raised.
3.
Press transport pedal [14, Fig.
B
] all the way
down until it latches in.
The 2 transport wheels [11, Fig. A/B] are
pressed down.
The machine can be lifted by the handles
[9, Fig. A/B] and be freely moved and steered
manually on the transport wheels.
Do not roll the machine in this manner on a
ramp!
4.
Roll the machine until the milling rotor is posi
tioned over the surface to be milled.
Risk of injury from rotating milling rotor and lo
wering machine!
Make sure that no one can enter the machine’s
danger zone during operation.
Proceed with the greatest care and caution!
5.
Press release pedal [15, Fig. B] down.
The 2 transport wheels [11, Fig. A/B] swivel up.
The machine was lowered on the drive
wheels [13, Fig. A/B].
As soon as the machine is switched on or
started, the milling rotor starts turning! The for
ward drive and the milling rotor drive cannot be
switched independently of each other.
Risk of damage and injury from uncontrolled
movement of the machine!
BEF 320EX:
Risk of injury from inadvertent starting of the
machine! Before plugging in the power plug,
make sure the drive switch is turned off (
f
)!
6.
BEF 320EX:
a.
Join the connecting cable (extension cable)
with the proper power socket and plug the
connecting cable’s coupling in the power
plug [25, Fig. D].
b.
Hold the machine by the guide handle
[5, Fig. A/B/E].
c.
Turn the drive switch [23, Fig. D] swiftly to
START.
The drive motor, the pump and the milling rotor

HONDA operating manual).
7.
Use the milling depth lever [17, Fig. C/D] to set
the desired milling depth.
Risk of damage!
The milling depth setting is used not only for
setting the desired working depth but the milling
disc wear is compensated as well.
The maximum milling depth may not be set on
new milling discs.
The multi‐disc rods can be damaged or break.
