11. Medical certificate.
§ 1
Deviating from § 22a(1)(27) of the Road Traffic Licensing Regulations, spe-
cial restraint devices for disabled children in motor vehicles need not be of
an officially approved design if
1. the design corresponds with the current status of technology,
2. the restraint is accompanied by instructions for installation and use
specifying the motor vehicles and types of motor vehicles for which it
can be used.
§ 2
Deviating from § 21(1a) of the Road Traffic Licensing Regulations, disabled
children may be carried in motor vehicles if a special restraint device as
defined in section 1 is used and a medical certificate issued in the name
of the disabled child confirms that only a special restraint device can be
used instead of a type-approved restraint device as defined in § 22a(1)(27)
of the Road Traffic Licensing Regulations.
The medical certificate may be no more than 4 years old. It must be car-
ried and handed over to the responsible persons for inspection on request.
§ 3
This Ordinance shall also apply in the Land of Berlin pursuant to § 14 of the
Third Transition Act in conjunction with Article 3 of the Act Amending the
Road Traffic Act of 28 December 1982 (BGBl. I p. 2090).
§ 4
This Ordinance shall enter into force on the day following its announce-
ment.
