The object will be enabled, if you select the “Dimmer control” function in the “General” tab
(which can be seen after opening the “Function blocks” tab), “Function block 1” field. The
communication object allows you to turn the light on / off. Depending on which mode and
control scheme is selected in the “1: Dimmer” tab, the object value change can be triggered
by a short / long button press. The object value can also be changed by sending a telegram
from the KNX bus. This makes it possible to update the object value each time when
turning the light on / off is triggered by another communication object from the same
address group (e.g. another button in the staircase). If you do not want the object value to
be changed by telegrams from the bus, disable the “W – Write” option in the object
properties.

The object will be enabled, if you select the “Dimmer control” function in the “General” tab

object makes it possible to send telegrams of the “BRIGHTER”, “DARKER”, “STOP” type to
the bus (see Appendix “4-bit telegrams for dimming DOWN/UP”). The value of
“BRIGHTER” or “DARKER” telegram can be defined in the “1: Dimmer” tab, “Dimming up:
step value” and “Dimming down: step value” fields.
Depending on which mode and control scheme are selected in the “1: Dimmer” tab, the
object value change can be triggered by a short / long button press.
