Setting the rAid mode

If you activate the RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) mode, you can safely recover data when the

system HDD is damaged. RAID Level 5 of this NVR can work for a single HDD only in the RAID array to restore

data in the event of a failure of that HDD.

You can enable RAID mode if there are 4~8 internal HDDs.

•

Status : RAID array's operating status is displayed.

- Active : This indicates that the RAID array is operating normally.
- Degraded : This is displayed when the HDD composing an RAID Array is malfunctioning. If there are

additional HDD malfunctions when an HDD is in degraded condition, you cannot use the RAID array or

recover it. Immediately replace the HDD and proceed with recovery.

For more information on how to replace an HDD and recover a RAID Array, refer to the section, “

Recovering RAID Arrays.

- Recover : RAID Array is in the process of recovery. If there are additional HDD malfunctions in the recovery

condition, then you cannot use an RAID array or recover it.

- Fail : You cannot use or recover the RAID array.

Status/Management : This indicates the status of the HDD that composes an RAID array.

- Active : This indicates that an HDD is operating properly.
- Faulty : This indicates that an HDD is malfunctioning. You need to replace an HDD if you want to recover an

RAID array.

- Removed : This indicates that an HDD is malfunctioning and is not recognized by the system. You need to

replace an HDD if you want to recover the RAID array.

- Rebuild : This indicates that an HDD is being recovered.
- HotStandby : When an HDD malfunctions, for the purpose of recovery, it will display the HDD with power

on and in standby.

Total : This indicates the total capacity of the HDD that compose the RAID array.

•

Temperature : You can check the temperature of the HDD that compose the RAID array.
