2.  Configure any of the following settings: 

 

Turn off pen detection

: Turn off pen detection when the S Pen is attached. This can help 

extend battery life. 

 

S Pen alerts

: Tap the check box to set your device to sound an alert and show a pop-up if 

you forget to attach the S Pen and walk away from it with your device. 

 

Pointer

: Turn the pointer on or off. The pointer appears on the screen when the tip of the S 

Pen is hovering close enough. Holding the pointer over some features can reveal what an 

item is or what it does. 

 

Direct pen input

: Turn the Direct pen input feature on or off. This feature allows you to 

switch from the keyboard to the S Pen when filling in form fields. 

 

Writing sound

: Tap the check box to enable sounds when writing with the S Pen. 

 

Haptic feedback

: Activate vibration feedback when writing with the S Pen. 

 

Detachment options

: Select an action for the device to take when the S Pen is detached 

from the device. 

 

Attach/detach sound

: Select a sound for the device to make when the S Pen is detached 

from the device. 

 

Attach/detach vibration

: Activate vibration feedback when the S Pen is attached and 

detached. 

Air Command 

The Air command menu appears when you hover the S Pen over the screen and press the button (on the 

pen). Several useful pen features are available on this menu.

Accounts Settings 

When you set up accounts on your device, such as your Google or Samsung accounts, and your email or

account. Types of information you can synchronize include contacts, pictures, videos, and other types of 

files. 

You can also set up options for backing up information from your device to the cloud, and back up or 

reset your device.
