The preparations before operation of the S2438 series microwave power meter should be completed as per the following
steps:
Step 1.
Power on the instrument;
Step 2.
Start the application after entry into the system;
Step 3.
Confirm that there is no error prompt on the main operation interface of the front panel before the next operation.
2.3.2.1 Measurement of average power of signal
The power meter is commonly used to measure the average power of the signal. When measuring an unknown signal,
you can usually use the [Preset] key to switch the instrument to the preset state and start measurement.
If the signal level is possibly higher than the upper limit of the measured power level of the power sensor, a power
attenuator must be added at the input end of the power sensor; otherwise the sensor will be damaged.
Step 1.
Return to the root menu: Press [Back/Local] for several times to return to the root menu;
Step 2.
Preset the instrument state: Press [Preset], and the state selection window will pop up; select “Default”, and press
[Ok] to set the power meter in the preset state;
Step 3.
Set the frequency: Press [Frequency]>[CHA Freq], and enter the frequency of the measured signal through the
numeric key.
At this time, the accurate measured power value can be observed on the screen as shown in Fig. 2.14.
