2) Whether the microwave power meter is powered on; whether the green LED indicator lamp near the power button
lights up;
3) Whether the other instruments, cables and connectors, if used together, are connected with the microwave power
meter properly and work normally.
6.2.2 Common faults and troubleshooting methods
6.2.2.1 Blank screen
If the screen fails to turned on when the power button is pressed after the instrument is connected to the
power supply, please do the following checks:
Check whether the power outlet is normal and the power supply complies with
the working requirement of the instrument.
Check whether the power button is yellow. If the utility power supplies normally but the power button
indicator lamp doesn't light up, the instrument power module may be damaged.
Check whether the power button is pressed effectively. Try pressing the power button for several
times.
The power button indicator lamp turns green or the fan is in operation. If the power button indicator
lamp doesn’t turn green and the fan doesn’t run, the power supply may be faulty; If the power button
indicator lamp turns green and the fan runs as normal, but the screen is blank, the instrument
controller may be faulty. If the screen is still blank, the controller or LCD control circuit may be faulty.
6.2.2.2 Accidental phenomenon
Many factors may result in unexpected phenomena during use. The user can determine the causes of instrument
problems by reference to the following inspection procedures through which the problems can be solved or the causes of
problems can be judged clearly. If a hardware problem is confirmed, please refer to the section "Hardware fault".
If other device, cable or connector is connected to the power meter, check whether they are mechanically connected in a
correct way and whether the electrical properties are compatible.
When the problems appears after some settings are made, check the operation and confirm that all settings are correct. If
the test is completed, check whether the measurement result matches with the measured signal and meets the
performance indicators of the power meter and the connected sensor.
If you are not sure whether the settings are correct when the instrument has unexpected phenomena, press
[Menu]>[System]>[Save Recall]>[Default], and then set the instrument according to the measured signal and test
requirement.
6.2.2.3 Hardware fault
The S2438 series microwave power meter can test its key circuits. It is necessary to check whether the instrument works
normally as per the following steps:
Press [Menu]>[System] >[Service] >[Test] >[Self Test], and the system will start to perform self-test.
