The sensor calibration factor should be modified as per the following steps:
1) Press [Menu]>[System] >[Service] >[System] >[Debug Mode] and enter the password “41S2438” to
enter the calibration factor modification interface;
2) Press [Channel Sel] to select the channel accommodating the sensor with the calibration factor to be
modified. If “A” is selected, the calibration factor of Channel A will be modified; if the calibration
factor of Channel B needs to be modified, "B" should be selected.
3) Move the focus to the frequency point to be modified through the “Up” and “Down” keys, and the
selected frequency point will turn blue.
4) Modify the calibration factor at two power points, i.e. 0 dBm and +15 dBm. “Calibration Factor 1” and
“Calibration Factor 2” represent the compensation values at the 0 dBm and +15dBm power points
respectively;
5) If the measured power is 0 dBm and the standard power is +0.5 dBm at the 1GHz frequency point, it
indicates that the power of the power sensor connected to the S2438 microwave power meter is 0.5 dB
lower than the standard value at the 1GHz and 0dBm frequency point, therefore 0.5 dB should be
added.
6) If the frequency response of the power sensor at 1 GHz is 0.05 dB, add 0.5 dB based on 0.05 dB to
obtain the value of 0.55 dB, and press the [Calibration Factor 1] soft menu to enter 0.55 dB;
7) In the same way, modify the calibration factor at +15 dBm, press the [Calibration Factor 2] soft menu,
and write in the corrected data at +15 dBm.
8) After modifying all the frequency points that need to be modified in the power sensor, press [Write
into Sensor], and a prompt dialog will pop up. If you confirm to write the modified data into the
sensor, press [Ok];
9) It will take 6 s to write the modified data into the sensor during which it is forbidden to operate or
power off the instrument and plug or unplug the sensor. After the prompt dialog disappears, writing of
modified data into the sensor will be completed, and the instrument can be restarted for
verification.
