A successful continuity test will returns a “PASS” message. The continuity results are
listed for each lane-pair separation and elution channels.

10.1 Continuity Test Failure and Troubleshooting
There are a few aspect of the continuity test that users should be aware of. There are some
quick troubleshooting steps that can be undertaken that can resolve a continuity failure. If
these steps do not result in a passed test, users should not use the affected lane-pairs and
contact Sage Science support.
Failure due to temperature:
The continuity reading can be affected by temperature. If this is the case, the continuity
reading will only be slightly different than the other lane-pairs (or they will all fail, but have
similar values). This is likely due to the gel cassette having been stored in an environment
that is outside the 17-22
o
C operating range (e.g. refrigerated or exposed to sunlight). If this
can be verified, allow the cassette to equilibrate to room temperature. Otherwise, check the
electrophoresis buffer levels, described below.
