Cleaning and maintenance

When not used for extended periods

In the following cases, be sure to drain the toilet and disconnect the power plug from the outlet.

●

When the toilet is not used for extended periods of time, such as when you are away on a trip (The water could become dirty and cause clogging.)

●

If the toilet is installed in a vacation home and that home is not being used (The temperature in an empty house can

drop lower than expected and water may freeze.)

How to drain

■

When water may freeze

●

Bail or pump out water in the toilet bowl and pour

antifreeze into it.

* If the water is simply removed, bad odors will be

emitted from the pipe.

●

The water supply pipe needs to be drained. When the

drain-type toilet is used, operate the drain valve in the

room to drain the water supply pump in addition to the

procedures above.

Close the water shutoff valve to stop

water supply.

Remove the top cover.

Remove the strainer.

Check that no water leaks from the water
shutoff valve.

Mount the top cover.

Mount the strainer.

Connect the water supply hose.

* Refer to page 68 for how to connect the water supply hose.

Disconnect the water supply hose from

the water shutoff valve and drain water
from inside the hose.

* Refer to page 68 for how to disconnect the water supply hose.
