Chimney has a main importance for the correct
working of a wood fired cooker. Wood fired cook-
ers are built to insure the maximum efficiency,
anyway the performances of the cooker are deep-
ly influenced by the chimney. If the chimney has
defects or does not match the building laws, it is
not insured the correct working of the cooker. To
build the chimney you must use suitable materials,
made to work with high temperatures and accord-
ing to fireproof laws: it is not important the kind of
material, on condition that it is right and that the
chimney is isolated.
Contact a specialized technician or a local chimney
sweeper for any problem dealing with the chim-
ney, chimney hood and connection to cooker.
Chimney must be dimensioned in a correct way ac-
cording to the type of cooker it is connected with,
minding the environmental and general conditions
of the place in which it is placed. The section of
the chimney must permit the flow of the fumes
produced by the cooker without difficulties, but
it must not be too big otherwise the chimney will
experience problems in heating itself and this may
generate problems like weak draught and conden-
sation. In table 1 it is indicated the recommended
