Cables
Improper cabling prevents smooth traffic flows between the SteelHead and the router or switch.
Solution
To ensure that the traffic flows when the SteelHead is optimizing traffic, and when the SteelHead
transitions to bypass mode, use the appropriate crossover or straight-through cable to connect the
SteelHead to a router or switch. Verify the cable selection by removing the power cable from the
appliance, and then test connectivity through it. Make sure that you have connected your cables as
follows:
