5.1.3 : PCIe Switch LEDS

There are 11 LEDs that provide real-time link and error status for the on-board PCIe switch. These

LEDs are driven directly from the on-board PCIe switch.

The following tables define the meaning of these LEDs and the port they are associated with on the

PCIe switch.

PCIe LEDs

PCIe Port 0 Link Status

(MiniPCIe 1)

Green. This LED indicates PCIe link status with MiniPCIe socket 1.

This PCIe port is configured as a x1. Supports Gen 1 & 2.

PCIe Port 1 Link Status

(MiniPCIe 2)

Green. This LED indicates PCIe link status with MiniPCIe socket 2.

This PCIe port is configured as a x1. Supports Gen 1 & 2.

PCIe Port 2 Link Status

(PMC/PCI Bridge 1)

Green. This LED indicates PCIe link status with PMC/PCI bridge 1.

This PCIe port is configured as a x4. Supports Gen 1.

PCIe Port 3 Link Status

(PMC/PCI Bridge 2)

Green. This LED indicates PCIe link status with PMC/PCI bridge 2.

This PCIe port is configured as a x4. Supports Gen 1.

PCIe Port 4 Link Status

(VPX Port 0)

Green. This LED indicates PCIe link status with VPX Port 0. This PCIe

port is configured as a x4. Supports Gen 1 & 2. (Default upstream)

PCIe Port 5 Link Status

(VPX Port 1)

Green. This LED indicates PCIe link status with VPX Port 1. This PCIe

port is configured as a x4. Supports Gen 1 & 2.

PCIe Port 6 Link Status

(VPX Port 2)

Green. This LED indicates PCIe link status with VPX Port 2. This PCIe

port is configured as a x4. Supports Gen 1 & 2.

PCIe Port 7 Link Status

(VPX Port 3)

Green. This LED indicates PCIe link status with VPX Port 3. This PCIe

port is configured as a x4. Supports Gen 1 & 2.

PCIe Port 8 Link Status

(XMC 1)

Green. This LED indicates PCIe link status with XMC 1. This PCIe

port is configured as a x8. Supports Gen 1 & 2.

PCIe Port 9 Link Status

(XMC 2)

Green. This LED indicates PCIe link status with XMC 2. This PCIe

port is configured as a x8. Supports Gen 1 & 2.

Fatal Error

Red. On when a fatal error was detected in the PCIe switch. Please

reference the PEX8648 specification for conditions that may cause

this.
