Protection
If the status shown below has been detected, the projector makes the status LED blink and the stand-by state is recovered. For more details,
refer to the appendix of the instruction manual (List of Power/Warning/Lamp Replace lamps).
Detection at the time of lamp cover removal
¾
During the detection, Lamp_Off and Fan_Drive are locked at the hardware.
Fan (x5) revolution error detection
¾
Fan protection becomes effective when a speed lower than the specified revolution level is detected at each fan.
Lamp non-lighting detection
¾
The lamp operation status is periodically monitored by serial communication in order to detect the occurrence of any problem like
not lighting, communication errors, and others.
Abnormal temperature detection: Temperature detection is carried out at three points inside the projector. The applications and control are
as specified below.
¾
1 Detection by bimetal sensor
The lamp temperature is detected. If any abnormality is detected, the main power and the lamp lighting are turned off in
terms of hardware. If any abnormality is discovered by the bimetal sensor, it is impossible to restore the normal function until
the internal temperature in the projector comes down sufficiently.
The bimetal sensor detection temperature is 140
°
C
±
5
°
C. Normally short-circuited, and opened in the case of an error.
¾
2 Detection by temperature sensor (Suction temperature)
The temperature sensor output is picked up as digital data by the ADC function of IC3001.
This output is used to control the fan revolutions and lamps. If any temperature exceeding the specified level is detected by
this sensor, such a condition is identified as a deviation of the environmental temperature from the normal operating range,
and Power OFF processing is carried out by software operation.
The specified temperature is controlled by the data table for each mode of the lamps.
*Sensors are allocated on the follower board. (TH-I PWB)
¾
3 Detection by temperature sensor (Peripheral temperature of the Lamp)
The temperature sensor output is picked up as digital data by the ADC function of IC3001.
If any temperature exceeding the specified level is detected by this sensor, such a condition is identified as an abnormality in
the internal temperature, and Power OFF processing is carried out by software operation. The specified temperatures are
controlled by the data table for the respective lamp modes.
*Sensors are allocated on the Main Board.
¾
4 Detection by temperature sensor (Exhaust air temperature)
The temperature sensor output is picked up as digital data by the ADC function of IC3001.
If any temperature exceeding the specified level is detected by this sensor, such a condition is identified as an abnormality in
the internal temperature, and Power OFF processing is carried out by software operation. The specified temperature is
controlled by the data table for each mode of the lamps.
*Sensors are allocated on the follower board. (TH-E PWB)
¾
5 Detection by thermal sensors (ballast temperature)
The thermal sensor output is picked up as digital data based on the ballast ADC function.
When an excessive temperature above the specified level is detected as a result of communication between ballast board
and IC3001, it is regarded as an internal error and Power Off action is taken by software processing. The specified
temperature is controlled for each model based on the data table.
*Sensors are allocated on the ballast board.
Iris error
¾
If the iris and/or the iris circuit fails, or when a failure in connector connections arises, countermeasures shall be taken to remove
such errors.
