Radar image
The standard radar image contains well known details like all kinds of radar echo targets, fixed range rings,
heading line and bearing scale.
2.3.1
Heading, Stern and Beam line
The Heading Line (HL) and Stern Line (SL) are lines, drawn into the ship’s
fore/aft axis. They indicate the current own ship heading (HL) and the
backward direction of the heading (SL). The HL and SL start at the CCRP of
own ship and are drawn to the edge of the video circle. The SL is shown as a
dotted line.
The Beam Line (BL) is a short line, drawn perpendicular to the heading line
with equal line length to both sides of CCRP. It can be shown in different
length, extending to each side of own ship's CCRP. The default (minimum)
length is 10mm.
HL and BL always are displayed. The SL may be selected for display in
addition to the HL.
The bearing of the HL or SL depends on the presentation mode:
In Head Up (H UP) mode the lines are always drawn vertically.
In Course Up (C UP) mode the lines are initially drawn vertically and then
change, depending on actual course movements.
In North Up (N UP) mode the lines are drawn at the current compass heading.
When own ship is off centred, the heading line bearing is automatically
adjusted, so that the scale is always referenced correctly (see example beside).
For further information on how the presentation mode affects own ship's
heading line, see chapt.
The position of the heading line and beam line within own ship's outline
drawing depends on the distance values applied to the CCRP in the
configuration. If no value is applied, the heading and beam line will appear at
the bow of ship's outline drawing.

BL, see chapt.

EBL and VRM
Two EBL and two VRM can be set, centred to OS or as floating
EBL/VRM to any other position, which must be selected by cursor.
They are differentiated by two kinds of dotted lines.
Colour of EBL/VRM is green.
Colour of heading line is grey.

, see chapt.

PI Lines
Up to 8 sets of PI Lines can be included. They are adjustable in variable distances and bearings to heading
line, respective to the CCRP.
They can be shown as line from one side to the other or as
Truncate
with settable length on both sides of
centreline.
