Trouble shooting
Picture Freeze
Frozen picture means the cases of no video updating or no cursor movement. An alarm for that situation is
not able, because it is mostly a blocking of server functions, which will block the alarm outputs too.
It only can be recognized by watching the display image and noting, that nowhere changes happens.
Simplest way to state this total malfunction:
Check the clock time in upper right corner of display. The seconds must be updated in a
steady follow up.
Additional may be checked, if turning of Gain- Sea- or Rain-knob changes video picture or
cursor is moving according to trackball movement
When malfunctions are found, switch of the server by manual shutdown and restart the system.
No Radar Video
When the “No video” message is shown on the radar display, then the display is not receiving radar video
data from the server. This could indicate a problem with the server or with the transceiver. Check the correct
functioning of the radar server PC.
If a PC has lost contact with rest of the network the application manager software (the bar on the right in Fig
X) indicates problems with network connections. Another possible indicator of network problems is loss of
sensor data.
Following indications will show the situation:
a)
the application manager software reports a network problem (bar on the right),
b)
a “No Video” warning on the screen,
c)
Missing sensor data in the upper left corner (red indicated)
d)
Different Alarm warnings for missing NMEA-data.
Reaction
Depending on the system configuration, either the equipment automatically reverts to a fail-safe mode,
whereby it is capable of operating equivalent to a stand-alone system, or the user needs to switch the
connection of a TFT display and track ball from a client PC to the radar server and reboot the radar server PC
in stand-alone mode.
