g) Switching on the speed controller
First turn on the transmitter if you have not done this already. Leave the throttle/brake lever on the transmitter in the
neutral/central position (do not touch/move the lever). Turn on the speed controller. Wait a few seconds until the motor
beeps.
The beep is generated by the motor. Refer to section 10 for more information on the beep signals.
Check that the throttle and steering functions are working correctly.
h) Controlling the vehicle
Place the vehicle on the ground. Do not reach into the motor or hold the wheels.
Move the throttle/brake lever on the transmitter very carefully and drive slowly until you are familiar with
how the vehicle responds to the remote control. Do not move the transmitter controls quickly or jerkily.
If the vehicle shows a tendency to move to one side, adjust the steering trim on the transmitter accordingly.
The control behaviour of the vehicle moving forward/backward depends on whether the crawler or normal
mode is used (for programming, see chapter 10).
Crawler mode
1. Release the throttle/brake lever (neutral position) for the vehicle to come to a standstill or not to move (if neces-
sary, adjust the throttle trim on the transmitter); the brake function is enabled in the neutral position.
2. Slowly pull the throttle/brake lever towards the handle to make the vehicle move forwards.
3. Slowly push the throttle/brake lever away from the handle to make the vehicle move backwards.
Do not switch between the directions of movement immediately, but stop the vehicle first before moving in
the other direction. A direct change of the direction of movement can overload the gear.
