The muting / reset key has no effect on the optical alarm display (red LED, yellow LED and flashing LCD
display). The alarm LED continues to flash according to the highest existing priority for as long as the cause
of the alarm still exists.
Which muting / reset function (suppression or global muting / reset) is set, depends on the operator settings.
Global muting / reset:
If this button alarm is pressed for two seconds, then all acoustic alarms are globally suppressed until
the button is pressed again or until the MPR1 is switched off. The alarm suppression state is permanently
indicated by a flashing symbol in the info area. In this state the system cannot output any acoustic
alarms. Therefore the user should use this function with extreme caution.
A reminder signal can be activated via the operator settings. The reminder signal generates a 0.5 s long
beep every 5 minutes when global muting / reset exists.
Muting / reset is also possible with key lock activated. However global muting / reset is not possible with
key lock activated.
Global suppression:
If this button alarm is pressed for two seconds, then all acoustic alarms are globally suppressed for an
adjustable pause time or until the button is pressed again or until the MPR1 is switched off. The alarm
suppression state is permanently indicated by a flashing symbol in the info area (crossed through,
dotted line bell symbol) and a countdown timer.
Brief pressing of the muting / reset key switches the countdown timer off, longer pressing of the button
resets it. In this state the system cannot output any acoustic alarms. Therefore the user should use this
function with extreme caution.
Suppression is also possible with key lock activated. However global suppression is not possible with key
lock activated.
A permanently pressed muting / reset key
does not immediately switch off incoming alarms. Thus
each new incoming acoustic alarm causes an audible signal, which can only be switched off again by
a short press on the muting / reset key.
The following alarms are triggered:
•
Physiological alarms
•
Technical alarms
