Pre-FlightInspection
Pre-Flight Inspections shall be performed on the PEEBD units prior to each flight by the
aircrew member to whom the command has assigned. PEEBD Pre-Flight Inspection
procedures are as follows:
Ensure the Control Knob is in the OFF position and the system depressurized. Visually
inspect the entire system for any signs of damage or contamination. Check the rear
cover of the second stage for tamper seal on each of the screws and low-pressure hose
connection.
Open the Control Knob to pressurize the system, note the RED OFF position indictor
will no longer be visible, instead showing the GREEN ON visual indicator at the base of
the Control Knob. Ensure that the display gauge reads in the
“GREEN ZONE”

NOTE :
Strict compliance with Pre-Flight and Post-Flight
Inspections of the PEEBD unit shall be adhered to by all aircrew
members using any PEEBD units. Any discrepancies shall be
reported immediately to maintenance personnel.
NOTE :
Do not press the second stage purge button when the
system is pressurized during Pre-Flight Inspection. Unnecessary
purging of the PEEBD will deplete air from the cylinder and lessen
escape time, requiring the unit to be removed from service for
refilling.
