Front passenger seat 

Seat adjustment 

To move the seat forward or backward, pull 
the locking lever at the front of the seat up. 

Now slide the seat to the desired position. Let 

the lever go, and move the seat slightly back 
and forth to make sure it is securely engaged. 

WARNING 

For passenger protection, backrest locks 
must be engaged at all times while the ve-
hicle is in motion. 

Backrest release 

The backrest can be folded forward for easy 
access to the rear seats. To release, press the 
locking button on the side of the backrest (ar-
row) and, at the same time, tilt the backrest 
forward. When the backrest is tilted back, the 

lock will engage automatically. 

Backrest adjustment 

Turn handwheel on the outboard side of the 
seat (arrows), with your body weight taken off 
the seatback. 

WARNING 

Front seat passengers should not ride in a 
moving vehicle with the backrest reclined. 
Safety belts only offer protection when the 
backrest is upright and the belts are prop-
erly positioned on the body. Improperly 
positioned safety belts can cause serious 

personal injury in an accident.
