Cross shaft design

The cross shaft (1), offset by 90°, is located behind the pinion shaft and is used for

changing the direction of the torque. The crown gear of the cross shaft is driven by

the bevel gear of the pinion shaft. The torque is transmitted by means of the opposing

spur gear teeth to the limited-slip differential located above it.
