Preparing for Board Installation
Before you install the board, read this section carefully. Also
review the installation requirements for the PC before you
proceed with board installation. See pages 4–5.
Unpacking the board
Remove the Md2/PCI board slowly from its package and static-
shielding bag to protect it against electrostatic discharge.
Disabling VGA mode
You need to disable VGA on the Md2/PCI board in
these cases:
• When you are using the Md2/PCI board with an existing
VGA board
• When you are using multiple Md2/PCI boards (Disable VGA
mode on the additional Md2/PCI boards.)
Static electricity can damage the board. When touching the
board or parts of the motherboard, take these precautions:
• Wear an antistatic wrist strap.
• Always keep one hand touching a metal surface to
provide grounding.
• If you can’t perform a step with one hand, use both and
return one hand occasionally to the metal surface.
