5.0 INSTALLATION
5.1 CONNECTING THE BASE TO THE MAINS ELECTRICITY SUPPLY
There must be a cable riser [A] under the base plus relative connection to a
wall-mounted control panel in order for the product to be connected to the
mains electricity supply (220V).
By law the system must be properly earthed and fitted with a residual current
circuit breaker.
The control panel must have a double pole switch [B] used to power the
control unit [C] and preferably an emergency switch (optional), which may
be activated by a qualified technician only under exceptional circumstances.
(Fig. 23)
It is recommended that a double pole switch be mounted with
warning light that shows whether or not the product is receiving
electrical current.
Install a double pole ON/OFF switch 220V [D] and a key-operated emer-
gency
switch (optional) [E], which allows a qualified technician to by-pass the con-
trol
unit and lower at least one of the glass panels. (Fig. 24)
This procedure is only necessary when the control unit malfunctions due to
external overload generated, for example, by lightning.
In this case stop movement of the glass before it reaches the end stop
because the relative sensors are not active and the guide system could be
damaged (see "REPLACING THE CONTROL UNIT ASSEMBLY").
Under normal conditions it is essential to keep the emergency circuit on wires
F7 (white) and F8 (blue) closed, see
"WIRING DIAGRAM".
Even if the key-operated switch is not installed, it is essential that the relative
cables as laid as far as the control panel: this set-up will be useful for any
technician needing to make a fast emergency connection.
Make sure that the power cable and the extension cable
connecting to the
control buttons, in the final position, do not come into contact with hot parts.
The emergency switch cable must be no longer than 5 m and a
diameter of at least 2.5 mm is recommended.
5.2 FLUE INSTALLATION
The installation described below is for the first type of installation: FLAT
REINFORCED CONCRETE AND HOLLOW TILE CEILINGS with standard pipe
H=250/300 cm, see
"TYPES OF INSTALLATION".
The upper ceiling cover [A] is inserted onto the pipe until it rests on the
lower flange. (Fig. 25)
Do not score or scratch the enamel of the pipe or the cover during
insertion.
Before installing the product, see "LOAD-BEARING CAPACITY OF THE
FLOOR AND INSULATION".
The position of the hole in the ceiling must be calculated on the basis of
where the control unit and therefore your product is to be located.
