7.9 ACCESSING THE INSIDE OF THE PRODUCT
Enter the "maintenance mode" (see
"MAINTENANCE MODE").
Lower one of the glass panels (or both) and cut off the power to the product
by putting the wall-mounted double pole switch to "OFF".
Remove, in the following order: the grid [A], the ash box [B] and the Aluker
elements [C]. (Fig. 47)
Put them in a safe place in the room, taking care not to damage them.
Use a vacuum cleaner to remove the deposits of ash from the grate base so
that no residues fall inside the product onto the most sensitive parts (guides,
couplings, electronic parts, belts, motors, etc.).
Remove the 4 screws [D] and washers [E] securing the base of the grate [F]
to the appliance structure; lift the grate base out carefully so as not to hit the
cladding. (Fig. 48)
Edges and surfaces of the surrounding cladding should be
adequately protected
before working on the product.
Remove the grate base bottom shield [G].
The interior of the appliance may now be fully accessed.
When refitting the parts, before tightening the fastening screws, check that the
grate base is centred in relation to the glass panels otherwise they could be
scratched on the inside during movement.
7.10 REPLACING THE GLASS
Before replacing any damaged glass, identify and remedy the cause of break-
age.
Enter "maintenance mode" (see
"MAINTENANCE MODE").
Protect hands with cut-resistant gloves and eyes with goggles against flying
splinters.
Lower the glass panel that is still intact [C] and cut off the electricity supply to
the product. (Fig. 49)
Remove shards or sharp pieces of the damaged glass panel which could be
attached precariously or become easily detached.
Proceed as described under "ACCESSING THE INSIDE OF THE PRODUCT".
Power the control unit again (switch to ON) and re-enter the "maintenance
mode".
Gradually lower the damaged glass panel [B], taking care that in doing so no
pieces of glass become detached and fall with the risk of damaging property or
injuring persons.
Remove dangling or semi-detached parts and gradually break them up
completely.
Bring the top edge of the damaged glass panel to a semi-closed position [A].
