Chapter 4 Treatment

With HIVAMAT

®

200 you can perform treatments with the applicator.

The effects of the massage with HIVAMAT

®

200 develop only if the applicator is continuously moved.

Moist skin of the patient may also interfere with the effectiveness of the massage. Therefore, the area re-
ceiving the massage ought to be dried or possibly powdered.

CAUTION

Before each treatment, adjust the intensity to match the respective conditions and pay atten-
tion to the contraindications (refer to

Contraindications

on page 3)!

4.1 Preparations and Attachment

Basically, treatment is done using an applicator. This mode of treatment is also suitable for self-treatment

How to Prepare the Applicator

(1)

Plug both of the

Spiral Lead Universal (Ref.-No 00356)

items into the

connector sockets <9>

.

Since the instrument operates in biphase mode, you don't have to pay attention to the polarity.

(2)

Connect the applicator and the

Titanium Neutral Element (Ref.-No. 00351)

with the remaining

ends of the spiral leads.

(3)

Let the patient grip the titanium neutral element (or grip it yourself in case of a self-treatment).

How to Prepare Treatment

(1)

Before treatment, prepare the patient's skin area to be treated by drying or powdering.

(2)

Start up the instrument as described under

How to Start up the Instrument in Mains Mode

on page 9

.

(3)

Turn the

intensity control <6>

to zero.

(4)

Select the frequency as desired using the

frequency selector <3>

. For the effects of the different

frequencies refer to

Massage Frequency

on page 14.

(5)

Select the massage mode using the

mode selector <4>

. For the effects of various mode adjustments

refer to

Instrument Modes

on page 14.

Set the duration of the massage using the

timer <5>

. For the selection of the massage duration refer

on page 14.

Start the massage by turning up the intensity using the

intensity control <6>

(also refer to

Massage

Intensity

on page 15).

Important

You have to choose the intensity according to the minimum dose principle, i.e. in the lower
effective range!

The applicator should stay in contact with the patient's skin and should be moved on the
