Chapter 3 Instrument Operation

3.1 Operation in Mains Mode or Battery Mode

HIVAMAT

®

200 can be operated in mains operation mode as well as in battery mode. The state of charge

of the battery is continuously checked. When mains-operated or during standby operation, the battery is
recharged automatically.

To avoid unnecessary discharge of the batteries, the instrument shuts off automatically after a while, un-
less treatment is started by setting a non-zero intensity or if the intensity is not decreased to zero when
therapy is finished. You will hear an acoustic signal when the instrument switches off.

NOTICE

Due to inherent discharge of the batteries you have to take partial or complete discharge into
account, if you do not use the instrument for a longer period of time.

Important

In order to ensure a long battery life, the batteries must be charged completely when first
charged.

The first charging procedure should not be interrupted!

How to Charge the Batteries

(1)

Ensure that the instrument is switched off.

(2)

Plug the supplied mains cable (Ref.-No. 00777) into the

mains module <1>

on the rear side of the

instrument and connect it to a power line outlet.

(3)

Switch on the power with mains switch on the

mains module <1>

. A symbol lights up on the dis-

play of the

timer <5>

. The instrument is in stand-by mode.

The batteries are being charged. When the batteries are completely discharged, the charging proced-
ure will take approx. 12 hours.

The charging status of the batteries is displayed on the

charge display <11>
