Establishing Ethernet connection

► Operate QMS 700 via a PC or via a network.
► Establish the connection between QMS 700 (QC 700) and the PC:

– Use the red cable supplied for a direct Ethernet-LAN connection.
– Use the gray cable supplied for the connection via a switch or network.

5.5 Installing electrometer pre-amplifier EP 422 on analyzer

Signal stability of EP 422

Keep EP 422 away from vibrations, temperature fluctuations, high temperature, moisture 
and strong alternating magnetic fields for best signal stability.

Procedure

1. Attach EP 422 to the corresponding plug on the QMA.
2. Position EP 422 so that it does not touch surrounding plugs.
3. Tighten the knurled nuts.
4. Connect the control cable to plug ep1 (Faraday) or ep2 (SEV) on QMH 40x.
5. Lock the plug.

5.6 Mounting ion counter pre-amplifier CP 400

You can find information on how to mount ion counter pre-amplifier CP 400 in the corresponding operat-
ing instructions for CP 400.
