This is appropriate for experiments that might take hours
to complete, but where rapidly changing conditions are not
expected.
XPLORER’S LED FLASHES WHENEVER IT IS STOR-
ING MEASUREMENTS. THE LED ALSO FLASHES
WHEN XPLORER IS SLEEPING BETWEEN SAM-
PLES.
•
For extended battery life, connect Xplorer to the com-
puter’s USB port.
Without good batteries, connecting to a powered-on com-
puter with USB ports allows Xplorer to operate (and pro-
vides a renewal of the two-day memory backup power.) To
use a computer only as a power supply, DO NOT RUN
DATASTUDIO (quit DataStudio if it launches), and use
the Xplorer as if it were not connected to the computer.
Maximizing Data Memory
Measuring with Xplorer away from a computer requires
sufficient available memory. The following suggestions
ensure you will have enough memory to store additional
data sets and measurements.
•
Delete unnecessary data sets
If you have data sets that you don’t need to review or
retrieve, delete them. The data memory they occupy
becomes free for use in new data sets.
