Faster sample rates also fill the Xplorer’s data memory
more quickly.
A slower sample rate conserves Xplorer’s data memory, but
may cause Xplorer to miss an important change that
occurred rapidly. If you expect changes to occur slowly,
(like measuring the air temperature outside), slow sample
rates (once every minute or slower) allow Xplorer to con-
serve battery power by “sleeping” between measurements.
Xplorer remembers the last sample rate used for each sen-
sor (even if you have changed it from the default) and uses
that sample rate again when you use the sensor again. For
instructions on clearing this memory, see “Resetting or
Clearing Sensor Memory” on page 32.
