three runs (#1, #2, and #3), and 2 data sets are retrieved
from an Xplorer, the new runs created are #4 and #5.
Merging Data Sets from Multiple Xplorers
Since Xplorer saves the exact date and time measurements
are taken, DataStudio can add data from more than one
Xplorer together in a single data run. This allows two or
more Xplorers to take measurements simultaneously in the
same experiment, and their data to be viewed in Data Stu-
dio as a single data run.
To merge data from two or more Xplorers into a single
activity in DataStudio:
1. Before collecting data, ensure the date and time of all
Xplorers are the same. Plug all Xplorers into the same
computer or USB hub as parts allow. Set the desired unit
of measure and sampling rate or method for each
Xplorer.
2. Collect data away from the computer. (Start and stop
each Xplorer at roughly the same time. Note: A few sec-
onds difference is okay.)
3. After data collection, plug each Xplorer into USB ports
of the same computer running DataStudio. Xplorers can
be plugged in individually to a computer, or to a USB
hub, as your equipment permits.
