Manager.

1

Reseat the MSR reader cable.

Reseat the MSR board cable.

While at a DOS prompt, swipe a card through the MSR. If 
no text appears on the screen replace the MSR.

While at a DOS prompt, swipe a card through the MSR. If 
text appears on the screen reinstall the MSR application 
software.

Restore the BIOS defaults.

Remove all I/O device drivers, then reinstall the drivers 
one by one.
