3.6. Understanding Zones
The workstation, and incoming/outgoing conveyors are divided into sections
called “zones.” Sensors are used to determine these areas (Figure 3-10).

Workstation zones
- Zones 1-12 are found within the OPEX Workstation*.
Zone 1 is always closest to the operator, and zone 2 is behind zone 1. Odd
numbers continue across the front, and even numbers are across the back.
Containers or boxes will only stop at zones 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11 for either
picking or replenishment.
* Depending on your system setup, the amount of zones may vary. You
may have as little as two zones, or greater than 12 zones in this area.
