The following list of acronyms, used throughout the Cortex™ documentation, is 
sorted alphabetically.

AC

 - Aisle Controller

DSC

 - Digital Signal Controller. Main controller located in the iBOT.

EDM

 - External Device Monitoring

ICS 

- Inventory Control System. This is used to describe the software, such as 

CORTEX, that provides both the Warehouse Management System and the 
Warehouse Control System.

LPN

 - License Plate Number, most commonly, a barcode used to identify a 

container or box

PPA

 - Perfect Pick Aisle

PTL

 - Pack-To Light

RTC

 - Real Time Controller

SC

 - Safety Controller

SI

 - Safety Input Module (Guardian)

SO

 - Safety Output Module (Guardian)

SRCF

 - Safety Related Control Function

SRECS

 - Safety Related Electrical Control System

UPS

 - Uninterrupted Power Supply. A back up battery that supplies power in 

the event of a power loss.

WCS

 - Warehouse Control System. A software application that controls the 

real-time activities and tracks inventory movements.

WMS

 - Warehouse Management System. The WMS application supports the 

day-to-day operations in a warehouse. The WMS enables the management of 
tasks such as tracking inventory quantities and item locations.

WUI

 - Workstation User Interface

XCVR

 - Transceiver
