11. The display prompts for G3 echo protection. Press the NO key to
change the setting and the YES key to select it.
Note 1:
If the ISDN option is installed, the display prompts for the
ISDN mode after Step 11.
Press the
YES
key to select G4 or press the
NO
key first and
then the
YES
key to select G4. Select G3 if you know that the
remote fax machine is a non-ISDN machine (during
communication with a non-ISDN fax machine the display on
your machine will indicate a speed less than 64,000 bps.)
If you wish, you may leave this function set to G4. In this
instance, if the remote fax machine is not an ISDN machine,
your fax will automatically fall back to G3. If this happens
three times in succession, the G4 setting will automatically
change to G3 for that location.
Note 2:
Non-ISDN fax machines may be connected after an ISDN PBX,
some of which do not return the correct data to your fax
machine. If this is the case, your fax machine cannot fall back
to G3. To solve this problem you must manually set this
function to G3.
12. To continue programming AUTO DIAL numbers, go back to Step
4. If you are finished programming, press the SELECT FUNCTION
key.
Note:
If you want to delete any programming for an Auto Dial
number, follow Steps 1 - 4. At Step 5, press the
SPACE
One
Touch key until the number is deleted, then press the
START
key and continue with Step 12.
Programming groups
Once you have programmed some One Touch keys or Auto Dial numbers,
you can then program these numbers into groups to allow you to send the
same fax to multiple locations.
1.
Press the SELECT FUNCTION key
2.
Press the 8/LOCATION PROG. One-Touch key.
3.
On the numeric keypad, press the # key. The display confirms that
group setting has been selected.
