When Copies Do Not Turn Out as Expected 7-3
Several transparencies are output when making copies on transparencies.
Cause : When making multiple copies on transparencies, transparencies may stick
together and cause several sheets to be fed at one time. Paper jams may occur
as a result of such feeding problems.
Remedy : Fan stacks of transparencies and separate them one by one. After copying on
transparencies is complete, replace all remaining sheets into the box they came
in and store the box in an environment away from high temperatures and
humidity.
Cannot detect the paper size correctly when an original is set on the platen glass.
Cause : When the feeder (option) is attached, the copier cannot detect the size of the
original on the platen glass if the feeder is lowered. This is true even when the
Original Recognition function is turned on.
Remedy : In order to make copies on the correct size paper, either copy with the feeder
(option) lifted up or turn the Original Recognition function off and manually
select the paper size. (See “Manually Selecting Paper (Manual Paper
Selection) ,” on p. 1-48 .)
Copies are made in monochrome (black) even though the original is in color.
Cause : Through the ACS (Automatic Color Selection) function, the copier is set to
automatically copy in color if part of the original is in color. However, if the color
section is small, or if the color is pale or close to black, the copier may
automatically switch to make copies in the Black Monochrome mode.
Remedy : In order to make sure that such color originals are copied in color, turn the ACS
function off and specify to copy in the Full Color mode instead. (See “Copying in
Color (Full Color Mode) ,” on p. 1-113 .)
Copies specified with Coloring settings are not output as expected.
Cause : If the border that outlines an area for coloring is too thin, copies with Coloring
settings may not output as expected.
Remedy : Make sure that the width of the border that outlines an area for coloring is at
least 1 mm thick.
