4.8. STRUT BLADDER PATCHING
1.
Disconnect both HyperFlow hoses from LE hose fittings on the wing. Set aside snap clips
for later use.
2.
Attach both hoses to the strut hose fittings on the bladder, secure with snap clips.
3.
Close the pinch clamp fully on one hose. Ensure the pinch clamp is open on the other hose.
4.
Attach the tapered nozzle attachment to the bayonet fitting on your pump. Insert the
nozzle into the open HyperFlow hose on the strut bladder. Gently inflate the strut bladder
until the bladder takes shape and becomes firm to touch then close the pinch clamp.
IMPORTANT: Do not overinflate, the pressure required is much lower than the normal
inflation pressure.

Locate the leak by bathing the bladder with a rag or sponge using soapy water and watch
for bubbles. Once located, mark the hole with a permanent marker. Dry the bladder.
6.
If there is more than one leak or significant damage to the bladder, we recommend you
replace the entire strut bladder. Please contact your North Retailer or North Service Centre
for support.
7. Open the pinch clamps to deflate the strut bladder fully.
8.
Leave the HyperFlow hoses attached to the bladder.
9. In your Wing Repair Kit you will find a small box labelled ‘Bladder Repair Kit’.
10.
From the Bladder Repair Kit, follow the instructions, and carefully cover the hole ensuring
there are no wrinkles under the patch.
11. Follow Step 3 and Step 4 to gently re-inflate the bladder and check the repair has been
successful with the soapy water.
12. Deflate the bladder completely.
13. Disconnect both hoses from the strut hose fitting. Set aside hoses and snap clips for later use.
