STRUT BLADDER REINSTALLATION
1.
Lay the wing out flat with strut facing up.
2.
Gently re-feed the bladder back inside the trailing edge of the strut.
3.
Gently pull the two strings from the installation line pockets at the XLT-Joint to pull the bladder
inside the strut body. The bladder is fragile so minimise tension by stopping often to feed the
bladder into the trailing edge opening.
4.
Pull the strings until both installation lines appear back out of the strut body at both exit points.
IMPORTANT:
Ensure the bladder is not twisted as you reinstall.
5.
Pull the string until the knot on the lower installation line comes out through the small hole
in the lower installation line pocket. Remove the string from the lower installation line. Tie
the lower installation line to the loop on the pocket seam using a knot. Ensure the knot is
stopping the installation line from retracting inside the strut.
IMPORTANT:
Ensure the installation line is always tied to the loop or a string. An untied line can
retreat into the strut body and cause strut bladder migration.
6.
Pull the second string until the knot on the upper installation line comes out through the small
hole in the upper installation line pocket. Remove the string from the installation line. Tie the
installation line to the loop using a knot. Ensure the knot is stopping the installation line from
retracting inside the strut.
7.
Carefully fold over and refit the tuck flaps into the strut tip openings. Ensure the inner velcro is
properly aligned and secured.
8.
Locate both strut hose fittings and pull each fitting back through its hole in the strut.
9.
Reattach the HyperFlow hoses to the strut hose fittings using snap clips.
10.
Reattach the HyperFlow hoses to the leading edge hose fittings using snap clips.
11.
Ensure pinch clamps are open.
12.
Partially inflate the strut to ensure there are no twists, and the bladder is taking the shape of
the strut.
13.
Inflate the wing fully to confirm repair has been effective. Ensure the bladder has even and
direct contact with the material around it during inflation, and the material is not over or under-
tensioned in any area.
