1.10 Feature Description
1.10.1 Bulk Fluid Reservoir
The Bulk Fluid Reservoir increases productivity and improves cost of ownership with longer intervals
between fluid replacement, resulting in less downtime due to material change-out and fewer consumables.
The fluid reservoir is 600 cc (20 oz.) and includes a remote feed and fluid level sensor. The ability to use
bulk feed is application and material dependent.
1.10.2 CAD Import Software
Nordson ASYMTEK’s CAD Import software imports CAD data in an ASCII file (in the format of a
comma separated - CSV - text file) from a component placement machine to simplify Fluidmove program
generation. CAD Import comes complete with a JEDEC component library.
1.10.3 Calibrated Process Jetting (CPJ)
Calibrated Process Jetting (CPJ), also called Mass Flow Calibration (MFC) for needle dispensing, is a
patented feature that enables the user to specify the mass to be dispensed. This is made possible by using
a high-precision scale to take flow rate measurements.
Dispense patterns are programmed with a specified weight. The Fluidmove software includes a fluid
manager where the user specifies how the flow rate measurement is to be taken to ensure that a
statistically meaningful flow rate value is obtained. CPJ (MFC) automatically compensates for changes in
fluid viscosity, measuring the mass per dot and comparing it to user-specified min/max values.
CPJ has two major benefits. First, it ensures the right amount of material is dispensed for each part from
the beginning to the end of the production run. Second, it reduces daily setup time by automatically
compensating for changes in viscosity or fluid delivery flow rate.
There are three CPJ methods which are executed at user-programmed intervals:

Standard CPJ adds or subtracts dots to maintain a constant dispensed weight per part. CPJ
periodically samples the dispense weight and adds or subtracts dots to maintain the target
mass.
2.
CPJ+ (requires the Programmable Fluid and Valve Pressure option) adjusts the pressure to
maintain a constant mass per dot. The number of dots dispensed does not vary. Therefore,
Units Per Hour (UPH) remains constant because the dispense time is constant. CPJ+
improves dispense weight repeatability over standard CPJ.

Advanced CPJ+ is designed for LED production to maintain the designed fluid weight per
cell within a prescribed tolerance by adjusting the value of one or more of the following:
fluid pressure, shots per cell, and valve on/off times. This feature is used for LED
encapsulation applications only.
