Argument Description
seconds
Sets the RSTP maximum age time. The range is <6-40>.
Setting the Switch Maximum Hop Count
The
mstp max-hops
command, in Protocol Configuration mode, specifies the number of hops
in a region before the BPDU is discarded, and the information held for a port is aged. The
no
form of this command resets the value to its default setting.
By default, the max hop count is set to 40.

Setting the MSTP Hold Counter
The
mstp hold-count
command, in Protocol Configuration mode, specifies the maximim
number of packets that can be sent for a hello time period. The

form of this command
resets the value to its default setting.
By default, the MSTP hold counter is set to 3.
