3.1 Operation Checks During Installation
This section explains operation checks when installing the printer.
Printing without first carrying out these checks may result in the printer not operating normally. When using the printer
for the first time, follow the procedure below. For information on advanced setup, refer to the “DURA PRINTER SL
Setting Tool” manual on the accompanying CD-ROM.

Press the power switch to turn
off the printer.
The POWER light goes off and the power
shuts off.

Start the computer and launch the “DURA PRINTER SL Setting Tool”.
[After the “DURA PRINTER SL Setting Tool” has been installed]
Start the computer. From the “Start” menu, select “Program”, and then “Setting Tool” or
double-click the “Setting Tool” icon on the desktop if this shortcut icon is available.
[If the “DURA PRINTER SL Setting Tool” has not yet been installed]
Start the computer and insert the accompanying disk, containing the “DURA PRINTER SL Setting
Tool” into the CD drive.
The “DURA PRINTER SL Setting Tool” launches and the menu screen appears.

Open the front cover.

Lift the right end of the film strip.
Be sure to turn off the
power. Not doing so
may result in
personal injury or an
equipment
malfunction.
Open the front cover
gently. Opening the
cover abruptly may
cause the cover to
come loose.
If one or more units
are connected to the
computer, this setting
cannot be carried out.
Carry out the settings
individually, referring
to the manual on the
accompanying
CD-ROM.
The left end of the
film strip is secured
by the tape. The strip
may become
distorted if it is bent
excessively.
When installing
“DURA PRINTER SL
Setting Tool”, refer to
the “DURA PRINTER
SL Setting Tool”
manual on the
accompanying
CD-ROM.
