Adjusting the knob rotation torque
When the X knob and Y knob are moved to the top and bottom
positions, the torque adjustment screws can be found between
the knobs. Turning the torque adjustment screw to move it
closer to the respective knob increases rotational torque. (To
increase the rotational torque, turn the adjustment screw
counterclockwise for the Y knob and clockwise for the X knob,
as viewed from above.)
Avoid loosening these screws excessively. If they are too loose,
the top surface of the stage may move, even when touched very
lightly.

5.2 Operating the Motorized XY Stage
To use a motorized stage, connect the motorized XY stage to a
motorized XY stage controller and the motorized XY stage
controller to a connector box.
A specimen holder can hold one or two specimens. Open the
claw of its moving part and place the specimen onto the
specimen holder, gently stowing the claw back to fix the
specimen.
The motorized XY stage can be manipulated with the ergo
controller or joystick controller for a horizontal movement
control.
Horizontal movement limit position
A limit position of X direction and Y direction movement of
the motorized XY stage is set as shown below by factory
default.
X-axis max. value: 34000.000 μ m
X-axis min. value: -34000.000 μ m
Y-axis max. value: 27000.000 μ m
Y-axis min. value: -27000.000 μ m
The limit position can be changed programmatically. (See
“23 Operation on DS-L3” - “23.1 Setting Up the
Microscope - (6) Configuring Other Functions” for details.)
Stop position with XY limit
The XY stage slows down and stops after it reached the
limit position, therefore, actually the stage stops at a
maximum of 800
μ m beyond the limit position which has
been set.
