2.7.3 Preparation for demo lenses
Mark a demo lens with a lensmeter to indicate its horizontal reference line.

Clean the surface and edge of the demo lens, lens table (for Shape Imager), and reflec-
tion protective plate with a dry soft cloth.

Mark the demo lens horizontally.
At this time, the frame must be contact with
the lens table of the lens meter while the
demo lens is mounted in the frame.
Mark the lens so that the middle marking
point is at the center of the demo lens.

Remove the bridge and temples.

For the demo lens without flare in edge, per-
form safety beveling of about 0.5 mm width to
the front side.
When safety beveling is not performed, the
edge is not reflected clearly and the shape is
not detected correctly. It may result in
unevenness in the processed lens edge.
If polish beveling is performed, the shape may not be detected correctly. In this case, per-
form safety beveling without polishing again.
• When there is any dust on the demo lens, lens table (for Shape Imager), or surface and
edge of reflection protective plate, it may affect the proper detection of the lens shape.
• Hole that is detectable in the Shape Imager screen is clearly visible the hole shadow and
lens outline shadow and other hole shadow are displaced. When a hole is off this condition,
the hole may not be detected.
• Hole and marking of Tint lens and Half Tint lens may be detected.
